The Manufacturing Institute (MI), the workforce development and education affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers, has named Amatrol as an official partner of the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME USA).
FAME USA, originally launched by Toyota and now overseen by MI, is regarded as the leading U.S. model for advanced manufacturing workforce training. Its apprenticeship-style program enables students to “earn while they learn,” combining classroom instruction with hands-on, industry-based experience.
Through this new partnership, Amatrol becomes the exclusive provider of training equipment and content for FAME programs in advanced manufacturing, industrial maintenance, and smart manufacturing. The Indiana-based company is internationally recognized for developing certification programs, technical training equipment, and continuing education resources for manufacturers and educators.“Manufacturers will need to fill 3.8 million jobs by 2033, and nearly half risk going unfilled due to the lack of skilled workers,” said Carolyn Lee, President and Executive Director of the Manufacturing Institute. “This partnership ensures FAME chapters have immediate access to best-in-class training resources, helping strengthen both new and existing programs as industry needs evolve.”Amatrol President Paul Perkins added that the collaboration will also boost support for educators across the FAME network. “Most importantly, this allows us to work more cohesively with instructors throughout the initiative and help them be more successful,” Perkins said.As part of the agreement, Amatrol will continue as a Diamond Sponsor of the FAME National Conference and extend its backing as a Gold Sponsor of MI’s Workforce Summit. The MI and Amatrol emphasized that the partnership comes at a critical time, as the U.S. manufacturing sector accelerates adoption of artificial intelligence, automation, and other Industry 4.0 technologies
